How to Unblock Kitchen Sink in 3 easy steps.
We know blocked drains can be a nightmare, so we’ve put together a quick guide to help you unblock kitchen sink in 3 easy steps.
1 – Try Plunging
The obvious first step would be to try and plunge the drain using an appropriate plunger. If the drain blockage is only effecting one drain in your house, for example just your kitchen sink. Then plunging it might do the trick, as the blockage is likely to be close to the appliance. But if the issue is further down the pipework, you might require specialist drainage tools, and it might just be best to call a specialist.
2 – Try Acid.. or even Coca-cola…
Specalist acid such as One Shot is great to use for drain blockage but please be careful, its will burn your skin… And also your pipework if too muh is poured and left to settle on a pipe. When pouring acid down your drain, its best to pour small bits at a time, leave it for a few minutes and then rinse it thoroughly with clean water. Coke might do the trick… but nothing beats Acid.
3 – Try removing the waste trap below
If you have tried Acid, and tried plunging it thoroughly. You can always try removing the waste trap below the basin.. this wont be a pleasant job but if you think its blocked, it can be easily taken off and cleaned out. If you dont want to do this, it might be best to contact a plumbing company to help.
4 – Call a Plumber / Drainage company.
Depending on how bad your blockage is, your best option might be to call a drainage specialist from the start, as a basic plumber might just do the above steps and then recommend a drainage specialist who will come down equipped with a drain jetting machine ready to clean any blockage.
